Sure! I use butter as an additive. Veg. Marjarine is the best. But I make creamy mashed potatoes this way. No milk. If you want you can add a little flavor by adding a little garlic powder, or bacon bits, or some other spices the child is not allergic to.

Steam the potatoes instead of boiling them, steam them with chicken broth or beef broth the potatoes will absorb the flavor then when it is time to mash them mash like you would with milk but instead of milk and butter use the broth and chunks of minced garlic that have also been in the steam

Roast a bulb of garlic (with top cut of) in the oven at 400 F for half an hour. Remove the garlic from the skins, and combine with the potatos, a couple tablespoons of olive oil, and salt in pepper. You can add margine as well, but I don't find it necessary at all.

Mash your baked potatoes with some leftover meatloaf. Put it back into oven or heat potato-meatloaf patty in a lightly oiled fry pan.

try using chicken broth instead. I use it sometimes when I am low on milk. Just add some soy milk to make them creamy and the chicken broth will cover up the taste of the soy.

Boil your potato's, when mashing them add chicken broth, salt and pepper, and herbs. If you'll use a mixer it will make them fluffier. Best wishes.

Even though it may sound weird use a little miracle whip. It makes the potatoes really creamy.
