I'm going to college with the intention of being a pre-med and history major in a few months. Can someone tell me what courses I need to take in general for med school? I'd be glad if you gave some specifics

It varies with the particular school, but in general you need:

2 semesters of Biology with lab (usually there are 2 intro courses - one with ecology and the other with more cell and human bio)

2 semesters of General chem with Lab ("inorganic chemistry- a pre-req for Organic Chemistry)

2 semesters of Physics with lab (usually the lowest level physics class is acceptable)

2 semesters of Organic Chem with lab

(some places require 1 semester of calculus, but most either do not or will just ask you to explain how you will be able to handle pharmacokinetics without it (which is easy))

in addition you need to take the MCATs and graduate with a bachelors (or get the bachelors done before actually starting med school).

Most students are bio majors and take a lot more than 2 semesters - physiology and or anatomy are also good to take if you can. But it is great that you want to be a History Major ... it is good to look different and not be a "Bio-Major/Chem minor" pre-med clone. Standing out in the humanities will help you in the long run- but stay open minded as an undergrad ... there is a lot out there and you might change your mind - or want to take time off after graduating before applying for med school.

Good luck :)

Intro Biology I & II
General (Inorganic) Chemistry I & II
Intro Physics I & II
Organic Chemistry I & II
At least up to Calc II (if you can hack it, try to go to Multivariable)
A few writing-intensive humanities courses

Note: for all the science courses, try to take them during the school year to show you can handle the course load, and make sure you take the labs as well (no use taking organic chem without lab)

Biology, anatomy and physiology, philosophy, ethics, psychology, all the higher maths, etc. You might be well-served in taking a peek at the catalogue of your college of choice under their "pre-med" listings....
