Anger Management issues. He needs some help! There is nothing you could ever do that could possibly be bad enough to deserve to be physically abused! Here is some information for you on Anger & Type A Personalities. Continue to read & click next at the bottom of each page. This information should be vital to you. I've been there! You can't make them stop! I reccomend if it's just a relatioship, you walk away. If it's a marriage, or live in situation, maybe try a counselor. Over all, just make sure you call the police if it happens! You don't ever want anyone to think you have no reason for returning the blows in self defense. He WILL manipulate everything if he has the chance! Men who hit women have a tendancy not to do it just once! They may appologise, or beg for forgiveness, but that doesn't mean they won't do it again.

Several reasons.

1. Environment:
If he was physically abused as a child or witnessed his mother being abused by his father or a boyfriend. We only do what we know best, no matter what it might be.
2. Biology:
It could also be elevated testosterone levels or other chemical imbalances that induce a rage.
3. Domination:
He might have a need to dominate someone. This can range from physical or emotional abuse from hitting, to severe jealousy, etc. This also relates to the aforementioned reasons.

My advice is, drop him. Now. No good comes from a person who hits and doesn't seek help.

There are many answers to that question. Perhaps his father abused his mother, perhaps his father abused him, perhaps he is slightly unbalanced or perhaps he has major anger management issues. Unfortunately this is all too common - but not as common as men who wouldn't dream of laying a hand on a woman. If we are talking about you my advice would be to leave him. Counselling can help but if you are with him and you suggest it then you will probably just get hit again. Do not get trapped in the cycle, get out while you can.

Psychological issues and/or mental illness. There is no excuse for this kind of behaviour. Leave the situation, and get him some professional help. Whether he has hostility/disrespect towards women, anger management issues, substance abuse issues, insecurity, or mental illness, etc. it is not up to you to fix it, or be his punching bag.

Some people really have the potential to change, but not without help.

There could be any number of things going on here...don't stick around to find out.

Men who kill their significant others out of range often start like this...

They want to control their gf in all aspects.

If it's in their family history..then it can trickle down into the children as well. The sons that see dad beat mom and the dad also degrades women to influence the son..well that can surely cause a young boy grow up to be hositle toward the women he has relationships with.

I don't understand how alot of women stay.

Because they were psycho before you met them. But really its because a past gf hurt them and they see you doing the same thing and they don't know how to react without telling you their past. If you notice any signs of abuse leave the relationship then not later. It could save your life.

Most of the time they are repeating the traits they got from their fathers. It's a cycle in most cases. Another reason as well, more men are taking sterioids, which makes them freaking nuts! There are nice, respectful men out there, don't settle for an abuser!

I don't know. It is more likely a control issue with them.
I think is sick when I hear things like this. I can never understand why women stay in abusive relationships. I know I never would.
You are better than that.
