On some municipal courses I play I tell the man in the pro shop that I am a Professional on some odd tour. (Usually Hooters or Canadian Tours.) It means I always have to dress nice though, and they might ask you for your PGA (or other pro card).
You could also try going-out late in the afternoon to try to get a "sunset" rate in which for a low price you get to play as much golf as you can until the sun goes down.
And if those don't work, you can always try buying the starter a drink.

We take our 2 kids with us....How old r your kids?? if they are above @ 4 yrs old...they will be able to walk around with you so why dont u take 2 out one week then the next week take the other 2. Buy them each a club and let them have an occasional hit. They get to play with you...you get to golf more regularly and your partner gets a break from having all 4 kids around. It's a win/win situation. Good Luck :)

Why do you think you desire to get comped? I don't go to the movies and expect to get comped, nor do I go to the grocery store and expect them to let me take food for free. You are asking to get something for nothing. The golf course is a business, and taking something without paying for it is stealing.
If you really want to play golf for nothing, the best way is to get a job at a golf course. You could work one day a week in trade for free golf. Check with your local courses.

Jojo are you nuts?
Have you ever tried to take a four year old just to go to the bathroom? And you think taking them to go play a round of golf would be OK?
AND NOT ONE CHILD YOU SAY TAKE TWO CHILDREN!
You must be a loon or a gluten for punishment.
Forget haveing to say about a million times, "No, you can't hit until the ranger leaves!" or "...just sit there untill I am done putting." or "Come back here with the cart!!!!!"
Or how about hearing this all round, "Are we done yet?"
You Jojo are a maniac, providing advise that would most certainly cause any one who follows it to be incarcerated for commiting acts that would undoubtedly be considered cruel and unusual by child protective servises!
Oh yeh, I almost forgot... Hit 'em straight
