In part one of this question, I was merely pointing out what I feel shoud be painfully obvious, especially to those claiming to be intelligent Christians. I am a christian myself, but my lord would never even suggest that I relenquish the use of the brain he gave me for the sake of blind faith as espoused NOT BY HIM, but by my fellow humans ( now theres a reliable source ). Before you will be considered any better then fanatics, you must find a way to address some of the glaring inequities surrounding christianity, and that includes finding god's truest expression for your life, personally, having nothing to do with what anyone else thinks. So wrap this Part II
I've been told time and time again that god, as the father of mankind, is capable of a love far greater than anything man can conceive of. As a father myself, I can't think of anything my kids could ever do that would make it OK for me to send them to an eternal lake of fire for their sins. Talk about spritual child abuse!!!

Oh, and then of course there is the fact that the king james bible is missing many books that were determined by who?...man to be unimportant.
Then let's consider the dichotomy of the idea that man was given absolute free will, but most christians find it very difficult to even grasp the idea that if this is true, then the biblical authors almost certainly put their own spin on things. Before you say no, you can't have it both ways. Either we have free will or we don't. The bible itself is chocked full of instances where god said, and man did what he wanted. So what prevented the biblical authors from doing the same.
By the way, I'm not attacking anyone ( except for those to stupid to engage in a lively debate ) I'm meremly pointing out that god gave us the most powerful minds in creation. So why would you waste it assuming that what others tell you is the way it is.

Boy it took the fanatical zealots no time at all to miss the point and spew their ignorance all over my question without even the decency of answering it!!! Oh, and should one of my children become a serial killer, yes I would turn them in. Yes wrong action should be punished. I'm talking about the overboard extreme to which god is written to be willing to go to. If you kill someone in self defense, you have a good likelyhood of getting off. Same situation, but in the process of self defense, you fill your enemy with 47 high caliber bullets. This is called overkill, and is treated just like murder. So what I'm saying is, how can god expect his children to behave BETTER thats right I said better than god seems to be able to behave?

Talk about the child abuse you're giving to your kids you mean?.. I agree.. A good father will punish their children when they do wrong. Not let them do whatever they want with no consequences. That isn't love. It is child abuse my friend..

To: Bringiton; Have use noticed the "child abuse" was done on the Hebrew? Look at the time of Moses, and then fast forward to Christ being born. (Read it before you speak of it.)
Now, all I can say is that God gives everybody chances. Now whether we take them is another story. Noah is an interesting point; Here, Noah goes in to the Ark for 7 days. He doesn't close
it. God does after the seven day is up. Now in those very days(The seven), people knew what was going to happen (IE The flood.) but still did not change their "Wicked ways" of that time.
But even if one was to have approached Noah, and said he believed truly in what he said, Noah would have most invited him a place in the Ark. God waited seven days before he close them in. Seven. Saying that maybe he had hoped more people would have taken heed to his warning. So all in all The Big Sky Daddy does give us choices, and we do need to start making the right ones.

Your absolutely right! Hell is very interesting because the word Hell comes from four words which neither of them mean a place of dwelling of the damned and of devils and demons. The words Hades and Sheol mean common grave. Gehenna is literal place that used to exist outside the walls of Jerusalem and that place was called Gehenna located in the Valley of Hinnom. And Tartarus means a state of being for the demons not for mankind. So understand one thing the Bible clearly teaches that God is a God of love and justice. So he would not torture a human for sins that he did for only maybe 70 or 80 years of his life and then be tortured for all eternity. Evidently the punishment does not fit the crime! So don't discredit the Bible it's the fact that men take what they like out of it and ignore the rest, is as simple as that.
Peace

First of all, God doesn't "send" anyone to the lake of fire...it's a choice that every human being who ends up there makes for himself. As a father, you can tell your kids not to use illegal drugs, you can warn them of the risks, show them how they drastically affected others, and even offer them rewards if they stay "clean". However, if they really want to "do" drugs, you cannot stop them nor can you prevent them from suffering the consequences. God cannot stop the consequences of sin...death in the lake of fire...nor does he take away your choice of going there if you wish. It may surprise you to learn that the Bible says the "lake of fire" was prepared for "the devil and his angels", and that God is "not willing that any should perish (despite our evil deeds, we are offered forgiveness if we repent) but that all should be saved." Talk about a loving Father!!!
Secondly, the "lake of fire" is not "eternal". The results are eternal...everlasting death, a death from which there will be no resurrection. The "lake of fire" burns until there is nothing left to burn, until nothing but ashes is left. The Bible is very clear on this. The wicked will "perish"....that word is NOT a synonym for "live for ever".
Why certain writings (books) were not included in the King James Version as we know it today is not certain. If you believe that God wanted us to have the Bible, then you have to believe that he has something to do with the selection of the writings that comprise it. That the authors of the books of the Bible spoke their own words from their own experiences is certain. God inspired NOT dictated. The amazing thing about this is that although the various authors came from different walks of life, different experiences, different periods of time, different personalities, their "stories" are so similar, the prophecies written centuries previous are fulfilled to the letter, and all concur to the theme of the Bible...God and God alone...as to be humanly impossible without Divine intervention.
We can argue about "glaring inequities surrounding Christianity" until we are blue in the face, but it's a waste of time unless we sincerely seek God for ourselves and personally accept Jesus Christ as our Savior. And if we seek him, he promises he will be found.

In the OT--God tells us eating a Lobster is "an abomination"--In the New Testament Paul commands that Christian women should never curl their hair, wear jewelry,or leave the head uncovered without a veil--Christ says that anyone who condemns another will never reach the Kingdom of God---seems like heaven is going to be a ghost town!!

I can tell you are really not interested in knowing about God because you are too busy hating Him, for what ever reason. If you are a father would you want your children to never speak to you or when they did it was only to spit out hate or mock you. God is far more patient with His kids then you are and anyone who goes to Hell it is after flat out rejecting the existence of God. Why would someone go to Heaven who hates God and wants nothing to do with Him?

We have free will. The choice to love God and to obey his commandments and to live a righteous life. We all battle with sin and doing our own will. But if we have proclaimes Christ as our personal Savior and ask him to forgive our sins and we repent and change our ways then we will be forgiven. When we choose our own desires and turn away from God and his commandment then why should he open the gates of heaven to us. After all if one of my children commits a crime, I will always love my child, but they must be punished for their actions, period. We all have to choose to live the right way and not hurt ourselves or others. That is not the essence of love. Love is being kind and patient and forgiving. We all have minds and we have to also realize that loving God also involves faith. Faith is the belief in something even though you may have not seen it with your own eyes.

God does not send anyone to hell, people choose to walk away from Him|
Hell is simply the outer darkness that is outside of his ordering harmonious will. Only in that will is there happiness| Outside of His will and influence is nothing but evil. Evil is not a positive being but is simply the absence of the goodness that ought to be there, just like coldness is nothing but the absence of heat|
Look at the parable of the prodigal son|
What if he did not choose to come back to his father's house?
Now those terrible conditions that he was enduring were simply the conditions of being outside of his father's influence and the influence of a just society - as he choose the wanton life|
Now why is hell eternal?
It is because those there are so perverse in their hatred of God and the good, and are so proud, that they prefer absolute misery to accepting the mercy of God.
That is not hard to understand, we have all met people who were miserable, but in a perverse way were madly in love with their misery, and have refused anyone's help who wanted to help them|
That is the condition of those in hell. God does not really want it, but if the soul wants to spurn God and His goodness just because it couldn't get it's own way in life, there is nothing that God can do| He is a lover who wants us to love him freely| He will not force Himself on us|

So you basically deny that people can do the darkest and most vile acts? That is denial my friend. God doesn't consign anyone to hell, they do it to themselves. It is a clear choice to be a serial murder, rapist, or other demon. There is much more evil in glossing over such evil, and saying that they are acceptable to God. They aren't.

As a Christian, you must know that you can't just pick and choose things out of the Bible to suit your limited knowledge. It is a whole package...you can't just take some and leave some.
The Bible says that is what happens to people who do not accept His son as their Lord and Savior.
So be it.
