No, it's not a good idea to have the food next to the litter box. When the cat digs the litter, it could go into it's food. The cat could get sick if it eats any litter. Put the box in one place, the food in another place. Don't keep moving either the food bowls or the litter box around either. Cats are creatures of habit and need their stuff in the areas they were shown. If you keep moving their box and bowls around, kitty will get confused and not know which end is up. Hope this helped!

I too would be careful. Cats are extremely clean animals and like some of the others said, you wouldn't want your toilet next to your kitchen table. With that said, your cat might decide that he's sick of doing his buiness next to his dinner and since his food isn't moving you might find a surprise or two a little farther away from the little box! I would move his litter before he establishes a new spot to go and then you might have more troubles.

Just watch out, I have done this before and the cat likes to kick a lot of litter around after he's done using it. Some of the litter can get in the food or water. You may have to change the water more often.

No, this is Not a good idea. Litter can fly into the water dish or food dish, and who would want to eat or drink with litter in it . Think about it. I'm sure you could find a better place for it, at least I hope so.

No, most cats do not like their bowl to be near their box. Some will even refuse to use their box and I am sure you can guess the result of that. Place her box in a nice quiet area that does not have a lot of traffic. Cats like privacy as much as we do. Also, if you have more than one cat each cat needs their own box, especially if you have two or more floors in your house. One of the cats will be more dominant and may refuse to let the other cat use the box. Good luck.

Most cats don't like their food and litter close together. They will sometimes stop using the box if it is kept too close to the food. And then you'll get some yucky surprises on your floor. I would recommend keeping food and potty separate.

No! You don't eat where you go to the bathroom. A cat is very particular about their litter boxes, they like them clean and not next to their dinner.

No... that is simply NOT healthy - very unhygeinic. Particles (dust, granules, fibers, etc.) from the litter could end up in the food and water bowl. If the litter box and the food bowl have to be in one room, then make sure there is a goodly WIDE space separating the two activites: toilet in one corner, eating in another corner.

If its a closed box, yes its okay but if its an open box then no because little bits of litter can get in the food.

No, it isn't. It's like having you eat near the sewer, and preparing your food there as well.
