Does it still protect you? Is it on display? Depends upon how bad it is charred.

Throw it away. Especially if you don't like it. The charred part could have been thinned. You won't find out until you are pulling something out of the oven. I use baking stones and I almost dropped one b/c of a charred oven mitt. The thought of 350 degree pieces of stone flying everywhere made me throw it away.

Look at the glove on your hand and see if you can see your fingers, if so discard. I have many charred gloves and mitts, but still good. Just normal. An easy way to tell is try using it, just inching to the heated pan, if you feel heat, time for a new one.
