hey! here is a list of custom tattoo artists from all over the country. quite a few are from california. i'm sure you'll be able to find someone who is close to you that fits the style of tattoo you want. you may have to travel a bit but there are some really talented artists out there.

I live in Riverside, CA and I had my done in Temecula...
Soul Expressions over by the Temecula mall if you want to make the drive. It is super clean and the guys there were fantastic. I felt comfortable and they all had a great sense of humor and fun.
Everyone else there was very happy and it was like sitting donw with a large group of friends..even the other's there getting a tattoo as well..It was really fun and relaxed environment
