It wud appear that flights from Bangkok to London are all over-night and leave bangkok about midnight . Why do they do this? It just means you have to wait around all day and then at bed time u set off on a 12 hour journey. Also what do people do with luggage etc. if they have to check-out of hotels at 12 noon and their flight is not for another 12 hours?

well what i did was ask the hotel for ahalf day booking till 6pm at night for the flight at 10:30 then got the taxi then.

Although what alot of ppl do is charter a car for abit of sightseeing and then go right from that to the airport - at least it makes you have adifferent day. Also if doing this get a trustworthy driver normally from a named comapny and tell him there will be a big tip at the end of it for him

The departure time is planned so that businessman can arrive London early in the morning and can go straight to work. The flight time gives passengers more than enough time to take rest, dine and feel fresh when arrive London. Besides, It saves your hotel bill for at least 1 night.

Re hotel check out time, you may request for late checkout at most of the hotel up to 14:00. You may leave your luggages at the bell boy or conceige and come back to pick it up prior your leaving for airport say ~ 1900 or 2000 for your midnight flight.

It's probably to do with the times you arrive in London after all you don't want to arrive at 3 in the morning. I think the earliest arrival in London from Bangkok is somewhere between 5 and 6 am.

EVA Air has a flight that leaves Bangkok at 12.50 and arrives in London at 19.30.

Hi, most airlines operate out of home airport local times and also sometimes, just to avoid peak timing in some countries that carry extra charges during the peak hours. So later flights can save these airlines some money.

In Thailand, the hotel that you stayed in do have a luggage room for visitors who has late flights and need to check out to avoid incurring a late charge, a full day rate if it exceed 4 hours beyond the normal checkout time.

For myself, what I do is that I do my own free and easy trip to places I like to see or re-visit. Or maybe complete my last minute shopping for items I may have missed. Or even to find a nice place to have a Thai meal before I head home. Key thing is to make sure to get back with sufficient time for the crawl to the airport.

So if you work back 3 hours before departure time to be back for your airport trip, you can find useful things to do to pass the time.

The flight time is not as crazy as you might think. There is a logic to this madness.

ALL flight schedule from most airlines has been worked out to make use it suits the best time for departure, time of arrival (local time) and connecting flights from other countries. There are also other factors to consider. For example, certain coutries have aircraft noise restrictions. Using this particular example - if the plane leaves at a "convenient time" it might mean that the plane arrives in Sydney at three in the morning and the plane then has to circle the airport for the next three hours until they can land after 6am. (Unless of course, it runs out of fuel while circling the airport and crash land)

I hope this answered some of your concerns

i don't know about the flight times to London, but there's flights at all times to America, just depends on which airline you take.

when you check-out, you can leave your luggage at the hotel. they will put it in a room until you are ready to pick them up.

You go on a transit tour in the afternoon & evening of your final day so that you are using the day to see & do things and not just hanging around. Your transit tour guide then takes you to the airport at checking-in time. This page can help you get information about a suitable transit tour, http://thailandtravelservices.com/transit-tour-bangkok.html

don't sweat the small stuff, most hotels will let you stay later even if they charge a few more dollars, because most US Flights don't land until midnight.
