First of all, don't mind the haters - it is nothing unusual here and don't take it personally. I get why you want a tattoo.
Having done lots of breast work, I would like to ask you why you are asking about healing? I would think you would first want to know if you are a candidate for the tattoo work.
I cannot tell much from your avitar about your skin tone. You have a dark scar and it keloided - so I am going to guess you are dark skinned. But let me ask you -
Is it really a keloid or is it a hypertrophic scar? If you don't know, ask the doctor. If a keloid, can they do a scar revision and hope for less of a keloid formation?
Keloids don't always mean you cannot have a tattoo. Many times they are successfully accomplished. It is not that invasive like surgery or piercing.
If it is a hypertrophic scar, generally tattooing will help flatten it. Regarding the color: we are very successful tattooing over light and white scars - dark scars are a challenge and would require dark colors. If you are dark skinned, you may be only a candidate for black as colors may not hold at all on you.
Now onto the healing. It takes longer for a scarred area to heal - up to a few weeks and you need to wait longer in between for any touching up - at least two months. Scarred areas often need touching up but that is not a bad thing if the scar tissue is responding to the needling to break it down a bit and make it smoother.

First of all, yes the colouration of your scar will have an effect on the colours you choose for your tattoo. Ask the artist what colours he/she recommends for your particular tattoo. Second, the tattoo should start to scab in a day or two (will also get itchy-due to healing), and should be totally healed in two weeks maximum (at least all of mine have been healed within that time frame). I strongly suggest that you use an ointment for helping your tattoo to heal faster (I personally use something called "Tattoo Goo", which I get from my artist as part of the cost). Don't be afraid to apply it several times a day, for at least the first week, then at least twice a day for the second week. Is also good to use it occasionally after the tattoo has healed, just to give the art work a fresher look to it (and the vitamins etc in the ointment cant hurt either). Good luck with the ink work!! Let me know what you choose to get.

If you have the type of skin that goes into keloid scars, I wouldn't recommend a tattoo. Breast tissue is very delicate and you might just end up with a worse looking result than a scar. Hey, go with the scar. I have lots of them!

The scar may have trouble taking the ink. Your best bet is to go right into the shop and ask those questions. How fast it heal will depend on the size and detail and you will most likely have to go back once or twice to finish (even smaller ones still need a touch up a few weeks later. Good luck!

It will alter the texture of the tatoo along the scar but you should discuss options with your artist of what will be the most flattering design that area of your body. The tattoo will take 3 weeks max to heal completely.
