Israel is just like any Western Democracy...confused.

Israel was spawned violently out of Palestinian land, from 1917 to after the Second World war, when the worlds first terrorists, like the Stern Group, began a brutal campaign of assassinations, bombings, kidnappings, intimidations, disruptions and sabotage. against Briton, Arab and even Jews. The United Kingdom true to form after being the main subject of its attacks turned tail and ran.

The United Nations Special Committee on Palestine of 1947 recommended a partition of the land into two separate states (one Jewish, the other Arab Palestinian). Under the plan the proposed Jewish state (it was adopted by the British) would acquire 54 percent of the territory despite comprising only 30 percent of the population and only owning 6 percent of the land. The Arab state would incorporate 45 percent of the area despite their being 70 percent of the population.

Israel has ignored numerous declarations from the UN for breaching human rights etc. Just like any country it has many people who want peace, but like the USA it has a number of war mongers in power... who will never let peace happen in the Middle East..

Basically the Palestinians want their land back. Israel doesnt want to give it back and the israelis will do everything in their power to destabilse the whole area.

Go see Steven Spielbergs movie Munich to get a better understanding how killing begets more killing and madness....

Which is a sad fact for the world...

They're a country made by British "geniuses" after the war. They took land from one group of people and just handed it to another group without thinking of the enormous difficulties both would perpertually face. The Israeli government unfortunately didn't adhere to the original bounderies and captured more and more land until eventually the Palestinians started to protest and when pressed into a corner, began to get violent. It's a terrible situation and the only people who came close to solving the problem where Jimmy Carter, Menakhim Begin and Anwar Sadat, but the Palestinian Authority was stubborn and didn't want to compromise more than they already had (even though it would have been worth it to give up a little more and have peace), Sadat was assasinated and the whole thing fell apart.
Please read President Carter's book "Palestine, peace not Apartheid". it's written by someone who was there and someone who's finally old enough not to care who he pi$$es off. It's a terrific book from an insider's vantage point. It's truthful and unbiased which is a very rare trait when it comes to this subject.

It was sold off to be an all jewish nation by foreign landlords and the people who were living there suffered greatly by being evicted from their homes, being put into camps, and having a wall built to show them warmth. Its so fun to have tanks roll up and down your street and to be shot at for leaving your house when the Isreali military decides to tell you that noone can leave their homes for a week, not for any reason. Hooray for a peaceful world.

A good question that will raise controversial answers due to ignorance of real history:

Israel is about KILLING innocent people everyday.

1. A promise given to the Jews to have a homeland in Palestine by the British Foreign Secretary, Lord Belfour in 1917, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balfour_Declaration,_1917

2. Ships packed with followers of Judaism from each corner in the world, 1947, not from a Semite origin (Ashkenazi, Flasha), pouring into Palestine which is mentioned in the Bible as Philistine, not Israel. http://resistance.jeeran.com/judaism/race/khazars.html

3. A false allegation; promised land for chosen people, who might have been chosen before committing all atrocities and collaboration against God, prophets and people; they played a major role in the killing of John the Baptist and Jesus.

4. People who are calling non-Jews the GENTILE, since they think they are the chosen people; a discriminatory word.

5. A military state, where every citizen is actually or potentially military personnel, reminding me with Sparta.

6. A whole bunch of thugs and killers, killing Palestinian; the real owner of the land.

7. A haven that allegedly consider itself a democratic state though discrimination is obvious therein; Ashkenazi (non-Semite Jews) on the top, Sephardim (Semite Jews), Arab Jews (Semite Jews) and then the Flasha (non-Semite black African Jews) at the bottom.

8. Usurper of lands that do not belong to them; God might have, in the old days, promised them (Descendants of Abraham) the land, not to the Ashkenazi, who are Russian and Polish Jews (Khazar race), or the flasha who are African black Jews.

9. A state created by a European countries guilty conscious after the Second World War in collaboration with Zionism. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balfour_Declaration,1917

10. An illegal son of the Treaty of Versailles in France, 1919 where Arabs were cheated and given a rotten deal though they helped in the collapse of the Othman empire. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty_of_Versailles

11. An Illegal state blindly supported by the USA for being a club to use when necessarily to hit the Arabs on the head.

12. An Illegal state that never respected the UN resolutions; of course resolutions have always been vetoed by the US.

13. Criminals who massacred tens of Palestinian families and children (April, 4, 1948/
over 250 were lined up and shot dead) in Deir-Yassin.

14. Criminals who were led once by Golda Mayer and Manheim Bigen who is considered by the International Court in Belgium to be a war criminal; never allowed to enter the country as well as Britain.

15. Criminals who, whenever criticized with regard to their own bloody history and the attrocities they committed (worshipping the golden calf after Moses delivered them from Eypt, for one), will wave the flag of anti-semitism; alas, idiots are sowallowing it.

16. An Illegal state which is the outcome of fornication in a dark night by international ZIONISM.

List of history and atrocities of this Criminal state, which is born out of wedlock between the European countries, forced on the Palestinian Arabs and supported by the USA, is too long.
