an exact number is almost impossible to get. people are always dying and being born again and again. not to mention civilizations that we have no idea about. i can only guess that probably about 99.9% of the ancient world believed in somesort of a supernatural higher power. the modern world would have a smaller percentage, but still in the mid-high 90% i'd guess.

It is impossible to know that statistic.
If I were to wager a guess, I'd say 60% believe, 30% fake it, and 10% never believed.
