when a guys says something like that doesn't it mean that it's over between us? because i've been seeing this guy for a while and all of a sudden he says i'm leaving town soon and "i don't want to lead u on" so we should stop seeing each other so much. I told one of his friends what was going on with us and his friend said " daaang u put it on him like that?" are u sure your not leading him on? i think your leading him on and he doesn't know how to say it.......i'm confused i'm not sure what his friend meant by that......what was he trying to tell me?.......

wait, so, your friend asked YOU if you were sure YOU weren't leading him on? (if i understand correctly.) maybe he means ... the guy thinks you're leading him on, but he doesn't want to be the one rejected ... so he's saying it to you? that might be overcomplicating it, though.
usually if a guy says that, it literally means he just wants to be friends.

"I don't want to lead you on" means that even though you and he might be involved doing whatever, he has no intention of anything serious, so don't you go there. He's telling you not to get too hooked on him. You and he will not be a couple or have a future together. It's a warning to you that if you do, then you will be heartbroken. He isn't going to commit to you and he wants to date other people and have his fun. It's your choice to hang with him, he's not forcing you, but don't start getting ideas. So later, when the relationship isn't going where you want, you can't say that he has lead you on all this time. That you somehow believed you and he would be together. That won't fly because he already told you. Class dismissed.

The term refers to creating somebody have self belief you're extra attracted to them than you somewhat are. You do it on account which you like the attention, yet you somewhat have not have been given any desire to be extra "severe" with them.

when they say they dont want to lead you on sometimes it usullay means they dont wnat to continue whats going on between yall but they dont want you to think its something good when its not its the exact opposite he might have an alterior motive but boys are boys who knows....but u never know what he truly means unless you ask him and he answeres truthfully
