It is fine to go through life without being married. That doesn't mean you can't love someone or have kids. There are plenty of people out there that are successful in relationships and parenting without being married. Or if you just want to be single that is fine to. It is what ever makes you happy. Just don't sell yourself short on anything and keep your mind open, because you just might change your mind after meeting the One

Of course! I'm 25 and I don't really want to get married (or maybe I haven't caught the bug yet). I'm really afraid of getting divorced (it's such a common thing nowdays). I would be happy just committing my life to someone, but not getting the paperwork and having the ceremony. A piece of paper doesn't define a relationship. And to be quite honest, I think people in a serious relationship who are not married work harder to solve problems when they have them. When people are married they are joined together by law and I don't think they try as hard to move past differences when things go wrong.

There is a book called "Passages" that describes the different stages of life and what the normal passage is through that stage. I am a single parent of a 19 year old and am 58. She turned out O.K. but it was a late start and now I have two beautiful grandkids. Get to know what the meaning of life is and if it involves children you need to get thinking of the best way to have them. Getting married is definitely a plus but it didn't work out for me.

ABSOLUETLY!!!!! Marrige isn't right for everyone. Some people just have life partners. By not getting married if a relationship does not work out it's alot eaiser to get out of with no divorce. It leaves your life wide open to do what ever YOU want, with no paper trail.

It can be dreadfully lonely, or it can be a perfectly rational and comfortable thing to do. Human beings were not made to be alone, so if you have plenty of human contact, such as sharing outings with nieces and nephews, and getting together with other single women to work on charity projects - it's quite possible to remain single and be quite fulfilled.

marriage is a personal choice, it's up to that person if they feel it's alright. but if you don't find that right person, you just don't. Some people REALLY want to be married, and there are others who just don't care for the idea until they meet the right person.

Absolutely!! Why not? I have several family members on both sides of my family and of both genders that remained unmarried. Some are still alive and older ones passed on. I don't find that unusual in any way. It never even occured to me to ask why!!

Of course. Just because most people get married doesn't mean you have to. Do what makes you happy. = D
