I can't use a beer batter recipe for school i need a good alternative

ya my teachers a quack i told her that it burns off and she still won't let me (don't ask me why) also i'm not gonna be able to find non alcoholic beer around the area and my teacher probably wont' believe me about that too

Long John Silver's Fish Batter
4-6 servings 5 min 5 min prep

3/4 cup flour
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup water

Sift dry ingredients.
Add water and mix well.
Use to coat fish or chicken filets.
Cover the fish completely.
Deep fry until a nice golden brown.

Batter Recipes


Ingredients:
1/2 cup corn starch
1/2 cup flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 dash sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup water


Directions:

Combine dry ingredients well. Add liquid and blend thoroughly. (For Onion Rings I add seasoning salt)

Sure you can - the beer "burns off" when cooked so it will be no problem......If you insist on not using beer, then the only thing I can think of would be to substitute a non-alcoholic beer instead.......
