Someone said told me that it's having a drink once every other day,but I thought every other month or so.

You may have guessed by now from everyones answer that it greatly varies for people.
Basically it's what you feel is acceptable.

occasional drinking it's enjoying life
every event you go to, it could be weekly, and drink one glass of wine,or just 1 beer, or just a bit of brandy, nothing else, just 1 glass of any drink , once a week, or just few times a year, it depends of when the occasions are, weddings, party, dinner invitations,or simply at lunch

but you are right, it's certainly not every other day
every other day maybe be occasionally only if he compares with someone who drinks all the time

I would think perhaps social drinking. You know, when you get together with friends or on an occasion to celebrate or something like that.

Occassional means once in a while. It is not a scheduled thing that must be performed every other day or month.

If ocassionally is every single day of your misirable life then give me the check mark. I drink a ocassional 12 pack or it's equlivent a night.

I drink on occasion, and, fortunatley for me, occasions happen quite frequently, say, oh, every couple of minutes
