Because if they ended the story with "and then Jesus died" they figured nobody would pay attention to them.

Because it's the truth, did you ever try and maybe think about that? Read the Bible and you will figure out why Christians do what they do differently from the rest of the world. Just because you never met someone does not mean that they have not done something for you. Someone has already pointed out in one of their responses, being an American, that George Washington and the rest of the "Founding Fathers" of the United States of America helped to form an independant nation from Britain for everyone living in America, not just the people that they had met, but everyone, at their time and also in the future. This is the same type of reasoning. If I use your reasoning on the independance statement that I have presented, you would be saying that you are not a citizen of the United States and are a subject of the British Empire because you have not met George Washington or any of the other Founding Fathers of the U.S. However, because of their work in the Declaration of American Independance, you are not a citizen of the British Empire but of the nation of the United States. The same reasoning applies here. Just because you have not met Jesus in person does not mean that He did not die for your sins or that He does not love you. Actually read the Bible before you go to ask a question based on what it says next time.

Because it's what they say to make them feel better and help them get through the day. It is a way for them to justify the things they do, because they can do whatever they want "Jesus died for their sins". No need to try to be a good person. "Jesus died for their sins." It's okay to start wars....they're starting them in Jesus' name.
Forget all the things that are directly attributed to Jesus in the new testament (turning the other cheek, dining with sinners, giving to the poor). None of that's deemed important anymore. "Jesus died for their sins", and "Jesus only loves Christians." To hell with everyone else.
Sad that Christianity is reduced to so very little by it's very own followers.

Wether or not you believe it, what's BS about a sacrifice on God's part to let all people off the hook for their imperfections? It actually makes perfect sense:
If God made us imperfect, (read: sinful) then we can't be held responsible for that imperfection, so He covered us like a loving creator ought to, by taking the punishment Himself.
In other words, God felt He could not punish us for giving into our own natures since He created those natures, so He sent Himself to earth to take the punishment for us so that there was a loophole to escape our inevitable sinfulness.
It's not a crock of $hit, it's a beautiful idea, whether you believe it or not.

That's no crock of BS, know one has met him, he died, a long time ago, for YOU, for EVERYONE, God created you, and people, and animals, and OXYGEN, trees, oceans, lakes, rivers, WATER, FOOD, he designed it all in 7 days. If you believe it is your issue, but if you don't believe guess you will when he comes back and YOU confess that he DID die for YOU because he will force EVERYONE to. Guess if you don't change, you'll be partying with the Devil in the scorching heat of Hell, in constent pain, hunger and thirst, you will be stuck there FOREVER if you don't change. Give God a chance, go to church sometimes and try something....it's called prayer and God likes it.

Yeah they'll say anything that sounds good from all they get from the preacher and not even search the scriptures for themselves a lot of the times.Jesus took away the SIN of the world and since it is BS to you no he doesn't love you. That is the truth so don't worry about it.

I have "Met the guy". Jesus Christ revealed Himself to me by His Holy Spirit, at the lowest point in my life, when I did not even know such a thing was possible, and instantly changed me from an unbeliever to a believer, and gave me peace, hope, faith, love, and an understanding of who I am, where I came from, and where I am going.
Jesus Christ loves me, and died on a cross for my sins.
Receive Him and find life,
or ignore Him, and die in your guilt.

Because He did. What difference does it make whether or not you have ever met the guy? The thing is, He did it for you even though you haven't met him. Isn't that strange? You couldn't find anybody who would do that for anybody. But He did. Even though you would mock Him and call it a crock of B.S. He did it anyway.

There are billions of people out there that I've never met, but I love them anyway.
Jesus knows you. He knew you when you were just a glimmer in your daddy's eye. As they say...
He loves even the worst of us. And he wants us to treach each other with the same love.

Christians say this, because it says so in God's Word, the Bible.
When Jesus Christ died on the cross, He died for the sin of mankind. He took the punishment for your sin and mine, so that we can have the opportunity to accept the free gift which He offers, which is forgiveness of sins, and an abundant life.
You have a choice, whether to accept or reject God's offer of mercy. Trust Him as your Saviour and Lord today.

Question!
Could you possibly emulate Charles Darwin.
Now I do not mean the person Charles Darwin.
But the idea of Charles Darwin.
Did you meet this man?
Well the same goes with Christians who have not met this man Jesus.
They want to emulate his idea!
