It sounds like there isn't enough ventilation in your ears. Personally I wear two hearing aids. Normally I take out my hearing aids at home and when I'm in the car. This is not a good solution for everyone lifestyle.

You didn't specify if you wear behind the ear or in the ear hearing aids. I wear behind the ear hearing aids and there are good ear mold selections to choose from to help allow proper ventilation.

Also the ear molds should be replaced every 6-12 months. The ear molds are made from a soft like plastic material and eventually they become hard and does not allow proper ventilation and can lead to blisters in the ear.

To help reduce the itching, make sure your hearing aids are free of ear wax and other build up like dead skin. There are hearing aid dryers that people can help take out the moisture from the hearing aids that you can get from the audiologist. Another way to help reduce the itching is to take a Q-tip to help remove ear wax and dead skin around the opening of your ear canal.

Also refrain from putting your hearing aids in when your ears or hair is wet after a shower. The moisture built up will cause some irritation. They also have sweat bands you can get from the audiologist to put around your hearing aids if you were behind the ear hearing aids.

Another point to add is that you may need to get ear drops from your doctor. Personally I get ear infections that cause my ears to itch. The drops from the doctor will help reduce the irriation and keep your ears clean and it will help with the ventilation tips.

It could be caused by bacteria. Dissolve sea salt in warm water and pour into you ear. Let it stay for a minute or so and let your ears dry before replacing hearing aids. You might clean your hearing aids with alcohol periodically too!

I'd ask the doctor because it could mean bacteria is being trapped in your ear by the hearing aids. I use rubbing alcohol dripped into my ear canal, then drained out.
