my son was on aderall for about 5 years. before he started taking it he was a very healthy 6 year old. but we had a hard time getting him to eat. he would eat just not much and he was not very healthy looking. anyway we switched him to Stratera and he is so much healthier. it isn't an amphetimine. it actually makes him sleepy so his sleep habits and eating habits are much better. good luck. before anyone asks what took us so long to place him on something else---the doc said he was healthy and the school was being jerks and kept kicking him out until we found a dose that would keep him calm. also he is very difficult to get the right med and dosage for as he keeps getting imune to the med after about 6 months and aderall was the only one that worked for him

Yes you can lose weight with some pills like Stratara and Aderal. But most pills aren't suppose to make you lose weight. Some other pills make you have major mood swings especially Stratara. My brother took that for a month and he threw a spoon at me and i got a big gash in my hand. Hope that helps!!!!

A reduced appetite is a very common side effect of dexamphetamine.

However if you pay attention to your diet this is unlikely to be much of a problem in the sorts of doses usually used to treat ADD. If it does become a concern, talk to your doctor.
