Sure, it"s 13 miles and pretty safe...it should take you right to the pier...Wonder how long that would take???

Of course you can. Just like you can walk from San Diego to Seattle.
If you want to see the sights and get a bit of exercise, I would suggest you jump on a bus and get off for a walk in West Hollywood, Beverly Hills and, of course, Santa Monica.

Technically-YES. Would you want to? NO. It's about 10 + miles away
If you did choose to walk it ( why, I dont know) for the most part it would be safe but I wouldn't recommend walking it past sunset.

in theory, yes, but it's a long walk. (10 miles? depending on specific start/end points). It's plenty safe if you're talking crime... just watch out for drivers that aren't used to pedestrians. Chunks of SM Blvd. are cool, but I wouldn't limit yourself... you might want to check out Melrose, Sunset, Wilshire, or Beverly, to name other cool east-west streets that will take you between those two areas.
