In YOUR opinion, (please don't look up a study then cut and paste it as your answer), which is better for weight loss? low fat or low carb? I am in a weight loss competition in my office, I am merely eating healthy foods and weight lifting, I am down 22 pounds and feel and look great, my co worker is on the Atkins, he has lost 29 pounds but looks like crap (the opinions on how we look come from fellow employees, not me or him), so what in your opinion is better? I say since I am changing my lifestyle and not just on a fad diet, I will keep it off. I feel once he tries to return to a normal staple as you can not stay on atkins for ever, he will gain it back.

Dude....
Go ahead and lose the bet.Keep doin' what yer doin'!
If it's all about losing weight and nothing else....then he paid dearly for nothing. You got the better end of the deal.
I hope there was money riding on this competition. If so,then you need to pay off your end with a big bag of loose change!
You can easily heft that 100 pound bag of nickels to the office. Then you can watch him try to drag it to his car....huffin' an' puffin' the whole way! He might wheeze his way to the bank, but everyone will know who the REAL winner is!

I lost 30 kilos in just over 3 months using a low-fat diet. I did eat alot of carbs, lean meats, fish, fruit and vegies and walked 5 days a week for 40 minutes. That was 11 years ago. I haven't gained the weight back ever. I have continued to eat this way and after 4 children I still weigh 61 kilo.

Hope that helps.
