Like, getting it done, and afterwards.

Also, this is a little odd but, will it hurt to hula-hoop with a belly-button ring?

Well, the pain is different for everyone and no one can tell you how bad it will be for you. I speak for myself when I say its like a 2/10 pain factor

In my opinion the piercing itself isn't too bad because its done and over with rather quickly. Over the next week or so, your navel might be sore and that can be a pain to deal with but Motrin should help that. The main thing is that you keep the piercing clean and take care of it while it heals so you don't get an infection and so you don't have to deal with the pain of that.

I don't suggest hula-hooping until the navel piercing isn't sore so you don't hurt yourself.

It doesn't hurt any more than a standard ear piercing. It's harder to heal than your ears, though. Dial soap twice a day for 6 weeks, then once a day from there on should do the trick to heal it up, though.

Since it takes up to a year to fully heal (The outside may look healed, but since piercings heal from the outside in, you won't notice if it wasn't completely healed until after it's healed.) I'd stay away from a hula-hoop until after then... I got my belly button redone 3 months ago and just tried to hula-hoop about a week ago at a toy store, haha, it was pretty uncomfortable. I can't imagine doing it for any longer than a few minutes, unless you're VERY careful to keep the hoop lower than your piercing.

It doesn't hurt badly at all, like if you were getting a shot at the doctor. after it doesn't hurt either unless it gets infected.

you might want to hold off on the hula hooping until after it has healed, usually about 6 weeks, just to be on the safe side. after that, i would just a basic ring when hula hooping ( a non dangle belly ring) and wear a shirt that covers your belly ring as well. i have mine pierced and i won the hula hooping contest at my husband's company picnic so it can be done safely :)

When I got mine it didnt hurt that bad, but it stings for a few seconds. Also I dont think it would be wise to hula hoop with a belly ring. If you get the hula hoop caught on your belly ring it will hurt really bad!

I just got mine done Wednesday. I'm not going to lie, it did hurt a little. It also hurts afterwards, mine still hurts a little, only when I touch it though. Like when I'd bend over or bump it on something, it hurt. Hula-hooping would DEFINITELY hurt. It could also result in an infection.

no it isn't odd to hula-hoop with a belly ring after a week or so you forget that you even have it
belly rings do hurt, but not alot no worse than your ears, but there are actually several doctors offices that pierce and they numb it first a friend of mine reciently got hers pierced and they numbed it first and she didn't feel a thing although it will be sore for a lil afterwords

I got mine done several years ago and it took approx 6 mons to heal all the way. You have to make sure for the first little while your pants don't rub against it, or like in the first reply don't use a hoop. Keep in mind the gage you want. I decided years to go with the bar bell type and the gage was bigger then the original hole and to go bigger was like getting it pierced the first time : ( but its fun! I love mine and plan on keeping it after all I went thru!

yes it hurts. yes it is sore for a month... yes it will hurt if you hula hoop. if it is not fulyu healed yet (which can be up to a year) hula hooping may cause the piercing to migrate or reject. but the pain is bearable. just an ouch is all. an dsit up slowly once odne so you dont faint but its very bearable and the pain is only temporary!

Nah, it doesn't hurt. If you can deal with cramps, and PMS ect. getting your navel pierced is nothing. Wouldn't recommend hula-hooping for a while though

Getting your bellybutton pierced does not hurt. It will be a quick thing no it won't hurt if you hula hoop with one.
