A 10 month old should get a good nite's sleep...say from 7 p.m.to 6 a.m....and then should take two naps during the day....at about 10 a.m. and again at about 2 or 2:30.....each nap would probably be about an hour an a half. ....so in other words....they get up, have breakfast...play and then go back down for a nap...get up play and have lunch....go back down for an afternoon nap....play again...have dinner and go down when they start getting tired again....then should sleep all night.

And if you are a smart Mom...you get a nap when the baby does!

Every child differs some...some also fight going down even if they are tired....giving them their milk is also part of it...then if they fuss a little before going to sleep, that's o.k.....and putting on music often helps soothe them to sleep.

This pattern will continue until the child eventually only takes one nap instead of two...guessing, but at about 2 to 3 years old and then will take a little longer afternoon nap.

At 10 months old, my son would wake up around 6 am and stay up till about 11 or 12 and take a two hour nap then stay up all day till around 7:30 or 8:00pm.I find that it is much better to keep the schedule the same everyday if you can.

Mine replaced into snoozing 10-11 hours at 3 months, she's now almost 7 months and sleeps for 11-12 hours at nighttime and takes 2, 2 hour naps for the time of the day. according to risk you will get him used to going to sleep a sprint earlier so he won't sleep until midday. and by no potential ever wake a snoozing toddler!

I am not sure if my son is "average" but. . . He goes to bed at 9pm, wakes at 8am, and in the after noon he will take a 2 hour nap.
My little monster also just STARTED sleeping throught the night . . . he might just be making up for lost time. . . All I know is that I am glad to be finally getting some Z Z Z . . .

When my girls were that age they had 2 naps a day, usually get up 7am, back to bed at 10am, down just after lunch, and then up again at about 3/3:30 'til about 8pm. Then at 8 they would go back down for the night.
