I had problems with my insurance when I first got points.. depending on what the points are for, as you have to declare to most companies its actually not that bad.
Id start with www.confused.com which is actually a pretty good system, take the lowest quote that gives you the cover you need, then go through the phone book calling a few brokers and ask them to beat your price.. you'd be surprised how much you can drop prices.
