I was a veggie for about 7 years then i started eating meat again.
But after watching kill it, cook it, eat it, i have decided to go veggie again!
I thought that the animals were dealt with in a very kind and humane way and not at all disrespectfully but none the less i don't feel comfortable with it at all. Also i think if you are not prepared to do the killing and butchery yourself then you shouldn't eat it and so I'm veggie again, and its no hardship!
I also completely respect any ones decision to eat meat.
People need to remember that that even if it is the "food chain" not all animals are kept are kept in good conditions or killed in a respectful way often the cheap meat you buy in the supermarkets have been kept in awful conditions and treated very cruelly i can't believe anyone truly feels ok about that!
And by the way I'm not at all pale or ill looking!

I've watched them all - a morbid curiousity I suppose. I wasn't too surprised by what I saw though I doubt that all abatoirs are like that one or that the animals are treated the same. A lot of animals travel long distances to abatoirs and must be stressed by this. Eating meat is all part of evolution and so long as the animals are reared well & kept healthy for their own comfort & our well being then I think its OK. I know a lot of people will have been disturbed by the sights shown..... but how did they imagine the animals were killed ..... there is no 'nice ' way is there, only a humane, painless way

Sorry, missed this programme. I mainly live off of road kill or creatures that I or my friends kill. When visiting my local farmer, I make a point of getting to know the growing pigs that are really happy and healthy I feel quite reassured on the occasions that I have some of their excellent chops or sausages.

Haven't seen it, but I feel the same... there's no point in eating meat if you couldn't bring yourself to kill it yourself... Like, I was a fish eating veggie, then I saw fish being killed in a market in China... they keep them in a tank, and drive a spike through their heads when the customer picks them.... had to give up the fish as well....

I can't WATCH such BARBARITY, any more! The REASON? I was sent, - on WORK EXPERIENCE, - to an ABBATOIR! Thus, - after WATCHING the whole PROCESS, at FIRST HAND, - FIRSTLY, I THREW UP, - then, I VOWED that I would NEVER eat MEAT, again. And, - more than TWO DECADES LATER, - I hold TRUE, to that VOW!

You veggies amaze me, no - one asking you to boil your pets, deepfry the gold fish, or dig up the remains to make a pan of stock.
We are talking food chain, survival, i dont agree with experiments on animals or killing for the sake of fur, ivory or for pure pleasure.
But i do appreciate good quality fresh meat - chicken and fish.
A...............nd why do you veggies always look pale and ill.

Didn't see it, but I've no problem with killing for the pot; that's in the nature of things. Killing for pleasure is quite another thing. Can't say any more (nanny yahoo etc.) See my other answers, those that haven't been removed!

Do what? It is all a natural part of our food chain. Rasing yourself and feed properly, eliminates the added junk like chemical, and genetically grown feed.
