Well sometimes, because as a general rule (don't want to stereptype, but often) guys have less subtlety than girls, so when they think they're hiding their crushes, to the eye of a girl who is used to spotting more subtle signs, it seems quite obvious....
Then again some guys are very good at hiding it. Also as a general rule, a girl will not notice if a guy likes her - but will notice if a guy likes her friend...
Well that's how it works out for me...

haha no there's no law.
but there's no code either. but just expressions, and 'giving looks' to one another (as in us girls) can convey opinions and stuff. but we can *assume* these social situations, and who likes who and yadda yadda. its just a girl thing that guys dont have.
they're too oblivous.
