Arrange an opportunity for a bunch of cute girls to be around him - preferably at a mall so that these girls could be someone who he is unlikely to see again. Sit or stand close to where those girls hang out and watch their reaction to your son's pungent aroma. When HE notices their reaction, he may get a clue and be more careful with his hygeine. Then again, he may not care. Many teen boys could care less what anyone thinks of them. My own 17-year-old son could care less what anyone thinks of his appearance, yet he does have good hygeine. It could just be a phase. If the girl thing doesn't work, find someone that your son looks up to and respects and have them sit down and just tell your son flat out "Dude - you smell horrible. Go take a shower and brush those teeth!". Sometimes the direct approach works best. Good luck to you!

Get another girl or woman to comment on his cleanliness and mabe he will get the hint?Or throw a bucket of soapy water on him.Explain to him bacteria grows inside his mouth and areas if he don't keep up his appearence. And some might be lethal.I think the best way is to get a pretty female to comment on his smell or whatever but tell her to be kind.Peace

I have to agree it's sick!. But for some reason my nephew did the same at the same age, it must be a guy's thing.
You could try and get a power hose and wash him yourself!

Sit down and have a talk. This could be some sort of psychological problem. A counselor may be in order.

Don't worry. As soon as he is interested in a girl he will change. You won't be able to get him out of the bathroom!
You wouldn't believe how my brothers changed. One of them even started to iron his own clothes because he said Mum didn't do them well enough!

he may be depressed or have some other thing going on. Maybe you can get him talking. If that doesn't work, then tell him to bath or you will begin to wet him with cold water in his sleep by buckets full.

get him a playboy and explain he can have it if he's clean and detail that that is what real women are like too, they like men to look after themselves.
You might be better off getting his dad/ male friend to talk him straight about it.

Follow his example for a couple of weeks.
If all else fails, move his bed to the outside, so you don't have to deal with his BO. (He can move his stuff back after a shower)
