I wouldn't compliment her on her clothing or her looks right after saying hi for the first time. Getting too personal right away would make you look like a weirdo to me. Start with a safe subject like the weather or the coffee shop and see if she is even interested in talking with you. If she is, you can move on from there.

Don't say anything about her physical appearance, it will make her self-consious. The weather is boring. Say something that just comes naturally, like you would say to a friend. Otherwise it feels very awkward. Ask what kind of coffee she drinks and if she'd like for you to buy her another. Then you can ask what kind of work she does and so forth.

Ask her how her weekend is going? That might open up a nice line of conversation. If she says oh it's going ok, then ask her why okay? Either that or ask her what her favorite coffee is.
Women hate pick-up lines, so forget about it. Such a turn off. Try being yourself and ask questions to get to know her.

Depends on the woman...for me it would be anything that made me laugh. Not a joke really...just sarcasm. But this doesn't work for all women. Offer to buy her a muffin or brownie...or if she is in there often, buy her next cup of whatever she drinks without her knowing. Then have the cashier tell who it's from.

Pay attention to what she is doing....... ask about the beverage she's drinking, book that she is reading, a news story, etc. Next, ask something about her. Except, don't ask "What do you do?" (I always hated that one, like, what do I do for pleasure or do when I'm driving a car or what I do as a profession? That profession thing is a big turn off for me.....) But, most people like to talk about themselves. Good luck!

Just say - "How much does a polar bear weigh?" (dramatic pause) "Enough to break the ice! Hi I'm _____." But that's probably a bit immature to you. I'm still young and crazy and love to do silly things like that.
