I had braces when I was 9-12 for only my toplayer teeth. I was given a retainer and stopped wearing it after one month. I am 16 now, and I realize that my front two teeth are shifting apart. It isn't really noticeable but I begin to see a little gap between the two (I can feel a gap difference when I floss my teeth, as well). What can I do now to fix this? Is there a way I can go to new orthodontist and get a retainer to help; will this even help? Also, at what age do all my teeth come out and "stabalize" or stop growing?

Yes, they can easily fix this with a simple retainer, I happen to know Two people who had teeth shifting problems, and the worst thing that happened was that they had to, yes, wear a retainer at night for a couple years.

I work for an orthodontist....you can call your orthodontist and they can either adjust your retainer or get you a new one to stop your teeth from shifting more, but you need to do this ASAP. Your teeth shift and move throughout your life that is why you should wear your retainer at night

I am 25 and recently asked my dentist to refer me back to the orthodontist. My teeth were perfect after my braces eventually came off but since my wisdom teeth came through have gone squint again. You can get a permenant back retainer on the front four teeth that can stay on for years (my brother has one). I'm wishing I had one put on at 16 and now wouldnt need braces again
