Alright, Why do most christians who answer my questions tend to be a little bitter and angry? Isn't the message of the bible all about love and peace? It doesn't really seem like you are practicing what you preach. If an atheist or anyone else says something negative it seems that you feel that you can be negative too. Doesn't that contradict your beliefs. And by the way I used "most Christians" so please don't give me the "Im generalizing Christians" excuse.

You are generalizing both Christians and atheists. I think we tend to be bitter because we are tired of the "greater than thou" opinions day and night...even the questions that start..."CHRISTIANS" as if we are not even people, just a belief system. I know you know better than that. I turned the other cheek a long time...I reached my quota, now I will only be loving and peaceful to those who are likewise.

I think the problem with the answers you've been getting, is that they aren't coming from true christians. Christianity has been so watered down lately, that anyone who goes to church seems to think that they should call themselves a christian. To be a christian, is to be Christ-like, and in turn show love, compassion, joy, concern, etc., for those around us, the same way Jesus did while he was here. (the same way He did by dying on the cross for us.) To answer the second part of your question, no, "the" message of the bible isn't all about love and peace. Much of the new testament is, but not completely. The bible, especially the new testament, is a guide for living, as much as anything else. You have to take what you read and be able to apply it to your daily life. The Bible as a whole is a direct link to knowing God's "mindset",so to speak. I truly believe that the majority of "christians" are truly only "church-goers". I know the difference, because I've been a church-goer, and now am a Christian. Everyday is a struggle, and I work VERY hard to maintain a Christ-like lifestyle. I try to live in a way that pleases God, and I offer everything in my life to Him. I know I'm getting somewhat off track, but I'm very passionate about my faith, as we should all be. I hope you find the answers you're searching for, I'll pray that you do. Love in Christ my friend.

I think oyu are right. the thing people most forget is that we are human to. People call Christians hypocrits- well sometimes we are. We are human. We are the ones that are held to a higher standard and expected to be perfect all the time. Its just not possible. If we were perfect then world history would be completely different. There would be no fall of man. Fact is there was - I think Christians can be a little hurtful. Sometimes, and I have admitted this in other answers, I tend to personally get a little emotional. I am trying to mature in that aspect. Its an area we need to grow in and I think Yahoo answers is a great place for that.

You have to remember that Christians are people too, and therefore are not perfect. Even Christians can sometimes get defensive when they feel they are being attacked. I'm not saying it's right, in fact it does go against what Jesus says about how to treat your enemies. But we're all human and all humans make mistakes, so hopefully that hasn't turned you off to all Christians. There really are good ones out there that try their best to live the way that Jesus tell us to. Hopefully I have presented you with a good impression of what Christianity is about, and if I've ever been harsh or sarcastic towards you(I know I have on Y!Answers before), I sincerely apologize.

Because this is my first time answering this category in Y!A, I cannot say why many of the Christians who answer your questions tend to be bitter or angry. Judging by some of the responses posted in Religion and Spirituality, it seems that some of the askers may be asking in a sarcastic and facetious manner instead of being serious, which may make some believers upset. Then, again, Christians are human, too and they are subject to human foibles just like the rest of us. The only difference is they accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and are going to heaven according to the Bible; however, like it also says in the Good Book, they "must work out their salvation with fear and trembling." That means that they must ask God to help them with those things that aren't so Christ-like, like being less bitter and angry, so that they attract unbelievers to Christ instead of repel them away from Him.

Then your in the wrong category..........This is Religion & Spirituality

Have you read "Origin of Species"? Or "The Enchanted Loom"? Both postulate evolution but admit to all the shortcomings of the theory. Even today, scientists argue about so called "evidence" and none can agree on any of the so called "proofs" of evolution.
There are high stakes involved for the first person or group that can prove evolution is a fact. Just like any other theory, there usually is tampering with the evidence and outright lies about their importance. Mankind will go to any means to try to prove that God does not exist. But even Darwin had to admit that the means by which life started in the first place is still a mystery.

The only difference between a believer and non believer is that we're saved by grace. We're still human, we still have emotions and yes some of them emotions are sinful.

I'll put it this way in hopes that you can understand and not take offense. If you woke up at 3am and seen your neighbors house on fire wouldnt you do all you could to get them out? You'd pound on the door, break a window and even drag them out if you had to. Thats how a Christian sees an unbeliever, someone who needs saved from the burning pits of hell.

Its not that we try to come off mean or bitter, we just know how great it is to be living for God. I hope this kinda helps. God bless

I understand where you are coming from. The truth is you choose yourself when you become offended. So really there is no point in getting so bitter about a simple question. But you must also see it from the view of a christian. In church we are taught to love and cherish our god and to hold him with the highest respects. We are born and raised with that mind-set all our life. When we hear someone say something that might be offensive many people automatically get on the defensive and become angry.

What everyone needs to learn is tollerance. Even if one person doesn't agree with what one person says, that gives them no right to throw it out as a terrible thing. We live in America where freedom of religion is a glorious right... and that right is one thing that should never be trodden upon by another. You are entitled to your opinion and I'm glad you express it. We all just need to learn to work together.

I am a Christian, but cannot speak for the whole population, but I think what is sometimes annoying is that it is the same questions being asked all the time, however, Christians ask the same questions to non-believers repetitively, so it is just one of those things.
Also, sometimes the manner of the questions get a desired reaction. And I feel a bit hurt when people have a go at me, as a Christian with these related questions, I cannot speak for atheists, but it could be that they do not feel the same pain. I don't know...

God Bless

Could it be the way you ask them? Maybe if we didn't think that all the questions were trick questions, and that people were really searching for the truth. Most of the people on this sight are Christians having to defend their faith, which we are supposed to be ready all the time to do.Romans 1:16 or others trying to demean our intentions or randomly saying mean things about us.
God Bless!
It is a good thing that God shows those who call upon the name of the Lord mercy, since we do need it all the time.
