If I start cooking the chicken using the GFG, will I lose weight or is it pretty much the same amount of fat?

The Foreman grill will drain most of the fat from the meat. It is definitely better than frying. Baking chicken sits in its grease until you remove it. So the Foreman is the way to go for the least amount of fat.

It depends on how you cooked your chicken before getting the grill. Check calories for broiled, fried, and baked chicken and note the differences. IF you were frying it there will be a big difference. The difference between baked and foreman grilled is probably not much, there isn't that much fat in a chicken breast. Perhaps a hamburger might make more difference. Still... I don't think switching to a foreman grill by itself will make you lose weight.

I have the grill. It cooks quickly and it's convenient when I don't want to start the outdoor grill. If you get one get the kind with the removable grates otherwise it's a pain to clean.

I have a George Foreman grill... The idea is that the fat drips down the grill and into the dish thing instead of cooking the meat in the fat. You can't be eating crap meat and using a Foreman grill and expect to lose weight- it will make the meat better for you, but that doesn't mean it's safe to eat. I only cook boneless skinless chicken breasts on the foreman, which don't have a lot of fat to begin with.

What I hate about the grill is that the grill doesn't burn the chicken, but it burns the marinade off- you get this gunky black burned stuff on your meat and on the grill that was originally marinade.

I still like it, though. Honestly, for me, I'm better off just buying one of those stove-top grills. It would be the same for me b/c boneless skinless chicken has not a lot of fat to begin with.

That grill is very cheaply made. My parents bought two of those grills and didn't matter how we took care of it, the teflon on the grill would come off. I would suggest you to get a Hamilton Beach grilling machine. They are of better quality than the George Foreman grill.

Um - what it does is, it cooks most of the fat out of things you grill on it. The idea is for you to eat less fat, not to make you lose weight!

Some fat runs off into the drip pan, but My wife likes her grill for the convenience, not weight control.
