You will need to provide a copy of his death certificate for each title, you will need to provide the titles to each car. Vehicles ten years old and less need to have odometer disclosure forms completed(this is a federal law) your state will need a title application completed for each vehicle. If emissions are required, that too will need to be included. On the title application, there will likely be an area where you can check the transaction is due to death of spouse, it goes rather smoothly, there will be a transaction fee for each vehicle. If there are any trucks, a scale weight slip may be required.

In most cases you will need a death certificate and you can get these at your local court house, they are about $8.00 a certificate.Present the death certificate when you go to the department of transportation for a title change if there's any forms for you to fill out or sign they should have them on hand and the certificate should be enough to get things in your name.Sorry about your loss.

You will need a death certificate, a marriage certificate and some sort of personal identification. Then head down to the DMV. My condolences.

THE VEHICLES ARE CONSIDERED MARITAL ASSETS SO THEY ARE LEGALLY YOURS. TAKE YOUR DEATH CERTIFICATE, TWO FORMS OF ID AND THE TITLES TO DMV AND YOU SHOULD BE FINE.
