Your dog probably needs it's teeth cleaned by her veterinarian, once he removes the tartar and plaque you will be able to safely brush her teeth on a daily basis. I would have your vet check your dogs teeth to see what he thinks needs to be done. Dirty teeth in both dogs and cats does create other health problems as well as tooth loss, so please have your vet take a look. No it is not safe to use childrens toothpaste or human toothbrushes. Your vet most probably sells pet toothpaste and brushes. Good Luck.

No don't use children's tooth paste! They make tooth paste for dogs you can buy at petco or petsmart. the gums are bleeding like ours do when we have gingivitis. you need to take her into the vet for a dental cleaning and then start brushing her teeth every day. They actually like it. It tastes good to them.

first off the teeth bleea because it is the gums way of showing damage it isisnt always a bad thing by them bleeding it is making the gums repair them selves second go to the vet and get dogs toothpaste it is much better for them and third to avoid having to brush so often ask your vet about CET chews if they carry them or you can go with hills science diet T/D food it cleans the teeth and is nutririonaly balanced
