I am just the same! What helps me, is that i eat a full dinner around 7 with a glass of water. than if i am feeling hungry still after dinner i keep drinking water, which fills me up after awhile. And always have a really healthy and big breakfast. But drink that water throughout the day!

once you're hungry, then you definately're hungry and could eat. Your nutrition could be spread out through the day that you is only now unlikely to sleep even as hungry. If the reason you're asking it truly is because of the theory that you'll income weight in case you eat contained in the evening, you're believing in a myth. eat in sessions that are reachable for you which will stay away from starvation.

Make sure you're eating enough throughout the day and if so it's just breaking the habit. Change your routine, if you always eat with the tv then listen to the radio or read a book, and i find drinking water helps. I read somewhere that our bodies don't always distinguish between thirst and hunger.
Good luck!!!

Have you tried buying nuts in shells and nibbling on those, it slows down our eating rate by a quarter.
Also, if you must snack, replace the naughty things with salted popcorn or a SMALL bag of pretzels or twiglets.
Drink a glass of water before your evening meal.
Have you ever tried the tapping technique, when you feel like eating,
Tap 10 times above your eyebrow
Tap 10 times below your eye (gently)
Tap 10 times under your arm
Tap 10 times near your elbow
Tap 10 times on the palm of your hand
Tap 10 times on the top of your hand.
Tap 10 times above your eyebrow (again)
AND YOUR CRAVING IS GONE.
Well I tried this after seeing it on the tv and I did stop smoking for two weeks, (it works for all kinds of things including eating, something about the dopamine level in the brain). But then I got bored of tapping.....
Honest, it really worked for me. (but you do get funny looks off people)

you are most likely suffer from a sugar imbalance. it takes approximately 20 minutes before the "thermostat" that controls your appetite registers the last meal you ate. Try to eat slower, chewing a minimum of 20 times before swallowing - this will activate the saliva, which in turns aids in digestion.
