i personally am not american, but i dont think its fair when so many people say nothing but bad comments about america (including the people of america). i do understand that they do screw up some times but compaire that to what other superpowers have done i think you find they are rather enocent. muslims especially have very bad opinion of america even though every single musilm country in the world depends on america one way or another. i do also know that the people of america are very arogant but so is every one else when they have achived a lot. (i personally am against the arrogant bet it ruins the beauty in achivement).

here in the UK we had a guy called Abu Hamza, he was a radical muslim who stood against every thing this country stood for. when he was captured they found out that him and all of his family were on Welfare. so they were all fed with the tax which me and my family pay and they still think our country is a bad country. i would imagen there are people like that in america and its the same people who spread bad rumers about us.

Thanks, us Americans should take pride in who we are but also we have to criticize the things we do as well. We have a good system but now and then we have a few losers get in a mess up everything. If we look at it we messed up most of the world thinks of us as bullies. We need to work with the global community not do things are way when we don't get are way.

It's because they all think everything should be perfect. There is also the fact that people watch some of the most retarded crap on television daily. I bet if we only had the History channel there would be no problem.

Americans just love to bite the hand that feeds. It's like when training a dog. If you want it to learn to do something naturally you have to give it a treat every once in a while even after it learns the lingo.... Like if I were trying to get my dog out of the backyard by saying lets go on a car ride, but I never take it on a car ride but instead put it in the house... It will quit the idea that I am actually going to take it on a car ride.

We live in a sad state of classical conditioning right now. Drama is more effective in classical conditioning because dramatic situations happen more consistantly to a great number of Americans than perfect situations. We live with the mentality that we live for a few great moments, and the time in between is just working towards the experience.

The television has learned to abuse classical conditioning. Now people are so abused into one side of thinking that even if Bush cleared out the world of war they will just crash us back into it because of their expectations. Sadly enough the cure to a classical condition is a series of events proving that it is good and working, And in war it is like life... It's all a series of negative events leading to one perfect event... The peaceful end, but no one realizes their own moral dilemmas anymore.

There is also the fact that everyone wants results within seconds... That is why they are inventing smokable painkillers.

You might be hanging-around with the wrong crowd.
Sure, some people put the knock on the USA-even Americans do it . But that's partly because we would like to be perfect.

Unfortunately, perfection is impossible. Even those who criticize us - and they are usually a laughably tiny minority - must realize we have the best country on Earth. Current politics (and 'pols') are not the norm...we usually have Leaders who project a better image than our current batch displays.
The rest of the world has a habit of forgetting the good we do all around the globe...untill they need our help in the form of food or protection.
They don't refer to us as Uncle Sugar for no reason.

Well, you have to remember that people are more quick to complain than to praise. And there are always going to people that disagree with the American government (and any government in general). But you are right, the USA has done a lot of good and many countries depend upon it, but the USA also depends on other countries. However, it does seem that the rest of the world has a fascination with the USA.

Who are these people you are talking to, exactly? Different peoples tend to dislike America for different reasons. European anti-Americanism dates back to the Spanish-American War and the USA's rise as a naval power. Middle-Eastern anti-Americanism probably dates back to the early deals between American oil men and the House of Saud, or early support for Israel (which was by no means total). South American anti-Americanism in a natural by-product of the authoritarian caudillos that pop up every now and then to run the place; in the past they have used us as convenient enemies or accepted aid from us on the pretext of suppressing communism. There are many other reasons that people might not have nice things to say about America; history is a web with causes and effects flowing in all directions, not a simple chain.

Americans who claim not to like America are mostly just lying to try to get on your good side; we're all really very pleased with our position in the world, but in public we sometimes say otherwise so as to enhance our standing among foreigners. Some Americans have convinced themselves that they really don't like the place, but most of them don't bother to move.

you right Einstein, I am French and live in America and I love it but I must say that current American foreign policies are marked by stupidity and arrogance. It is true too that when you are at the top of power and money people envy you and talk you down, Americans must accept that. It is also true that some of them are so arrogant and despicable, notably this idiot here that pretend that the French are nothing but cowards, that it does not help people to feel a great amount of sympathy for Americans. Having said that, I have been living for almost ten years in America and I had never met any hostility whatever because of my Frenchness. So this idiot up here must be an exception that confirms the rule... Take care...

For all the free people that still protest.
You're welcome. We protect you
and you are protected by the best.
Your voice is strong and loud,
but who will fight for you?
No one standing in your crowd.
We are your fathers, brothers, and sons,
wearing the boots and carrying guns.
We are the ones that leave all we own,
to make sure your future is carved in stone.
We are the ones who fight and die,
We might not be able to save the world,
Well, at least we try.
We walked the paths to where we are at
and we want no choice other than that.
so when you rally your group to complain,
take a look in the back of your brain.
In order for that flag you love to fly
wars must be fought and young men must die.
We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear.
If that's not respected, we would rather stay here.
So please stop yelling, put down your signs,
and pray for those behind enemy lines.
When the conflict is over and all is well,
be thankful that we chose to go through hell.

THIS is not an easy question. I believe it is a relationship
thing... People, basically, do not like whatever they
perceive is stronger than them..Therefore, they do
not like America...the strongest nation on Earth.
People complain about America...but people Fight
to get into America...it is a Fatherhood thing. America
supports much of the world and is hated by much of the world. Similar to father/son relationships. We hate what
we depend on....because we internally desire freedom from that dependency. As an American soldier that went to other counties and was often treated like s..t I must
tell you that we understand.

Well talk to me about it. I can give you a list a mile long on why America is so great, and what a generous country we are. We spend more in foreign aide ($480 Billion a year) more than any other country. We have our faults but we have our own personality, and arrogance is Not one of them. There is Not a country in the world that can match us and what we do and what we stand for. I would like to have other, but there isn't! Personally, I don't care what other Country's think of us!
