I know I am in the process of being scammed. It's almost a textbook scam. I have an item listed on CraigsList and I get an email saying he is willing to buy the item from me. He asked me for my address because he wants to use a USPS online money order- he tells me he will explain to me how it works. He is in Kenosha, WI but the item is going to be shipped to GA, but he already has his own FedEx shipping account. He has not sent me any real info about contacting him- other than an the email address. The last response I sent went like this- "Ok, sounds good. How does the online money order work? JP" This is where it stands. I want to screw with this guy or better yet get him busted, what should I do next?

Deez- I'm not an idiot, I'm not taking his money and I'm not sending him my product or giving him my personal info.

Duh- Money orders from a scammer is classic.

Rico- What slap could he possibly send? I'm much more resourceful than you assume.

If you can get them interested in a small time scammer the best bet is the USPS Inspectors. You can find a link to them at USPS.com, at the very bottom of the page. Realistically you don't want to mess with a criminal more than necessary.

Its his game! Never try to beat a man at his own game. Better to just back off unless you have rock solid proof its a scam, proof that would stand up in court. I realize its frustrating, but let it go before you really do get screwed. Ask yourself this, is the slap I'm going to give worth the slap I'm going to get?

First of all you set the conditions of how payment will occur.

Tell him to send you:

A Money Order or A Bank Check

Then when you actually have the money in hand, you will send whatever you are selling.

Just stop the process or report it to the site and let them deal with. if he is scamming you you will get scammed sounds like it's not the first time he has done it. Stay away and report him.
