I am on probation in Louisiana and recently have been prescribed xanax to use while changing from one anxiety medicine to the next. I have to see my probation officer tomorrow and was wondering if I test positive can he do anything if I show I have a prescription.

As long as you have a prescription, you are safe. I would let them know ahead of time and bring the pill bottle with you so that they can see that the prescription is in your name

Is it a condition of your probation not to take medication? Ask your probation officer befor you do anything that you are not sure about.

I assume with a prescription you can take it. As long as you are not abusing it. If you be honest with the officer, I am sure it will be ok.
