Im a size 16, I'd like to go down to a size 8/10, I workout for an hour about 3x a week but Im increasing that to at least 4x , I spend about 35 mins on treadmill or elliptical and 25mins on a circuit that works the upper and lower body. My goal is to burn about 500 calories everytime I work out and decrease my greasy, fatty food intake

you've got a good start. exercise every day for at least 30 minutes. eat a well balanced diet with proper portions. eat several small meals a day. drink lots of water. I lost 100 pounds that way. good luck!

I'm on the diabetic diet, and it seems to work fairly well. I don't lose 10 pounds a week, but 1-1 1/2 pounds per week seems to be the average. It's basically eating the food pyramid. You get 3 meals plus 3 small snacks each day--that keeps you feeling full. Get a good calorie counter, the kind that also counts carbohydrates and fats. Along with the recommended 8 glasses of water each day, and moderate exercise, the regimen my dietician gave me was this:

Breakfast: 2 carbohydrate servings (15 carbs each--about the size of a slice of bread, or 1/2 cup of cereal)

1 milk (8 oz. of milk or yogurt)

1 fruit (1 piece or 1/2 cup of juice, usually)

Morning Snack: 1 fruit

Lunch: 2 carbohydrates
3 oz. meat (about the size of a deck of cards)
2 vegetable servings (1/2 cup cooked or 1 cup raw each)
1 fat (6 gms.--about a pat of butter or a tablespoon of regular salad dressing
(A good menu here is a deli sandwich with a salad and salad dressing)

Afternoon Snack: 1 Fruit, 1 Milk

Supper: 4 oz. meat (about the size of the palm of your hand)
2 carbohydrates
2 vegetables
2 fats

Evening Snack: 1 carbohydrate, 1 milk (this is a good time for that cookie you've been craving).

Good Luck!

If you are doing all that exercise, eat 1200 calories a day than.

For another person that wanted to lose 50 pounds at 206, I said:
Eat 800 calories a day (you can eat anything), don't exercise, drink water instead of other liquids, have water for snacks (in between lunch and dinnner), and you will lose all of that in 5-6 months.

You can do either of these. They both would work.
