I have this male friend we've gone out several times and we talk on a regular basis. I've told him before that I see him as a friend and I'm not really interested in him but he wants to be more than a friend. I admit that I like the attention but I'm not really interested in him. So, today I told him that I was going to stop talking to him because I needed time to sort things out in my mind. So we ended up kissing and that was our way of ending things. I thought things were going to cool off a bit, but now he's telling me "thanks for the effort" and that he was going to wait for me until I made up my mind.
Was kissing him a bad choice? I just did it for the moment..jeje =) Anyways what should I do? Keep talking to him or ignore him. He keeps on insisting.

Kissing was a bad idea, it's sending him mixed signals. He obviously thinks that you will reconsider. You need to make up your mind, once and for all - either date him and give him a real chance, and break it off entirely (you cannot successfully be friends again until he has gotten over you). Decide soon, and tell him your definite answer. Otherwise, you're just jerking his heart around, and karma will come back to break yours someday.

Sometimes kissing choices are not choices at all, they just happen. Stick to your guns and tell him you only want to be friends. Follow your heart not your head. He will get over it. He sounds a bit pushy, that would turn me off in a heart beat. Good-Luck.

"You must remember this, a kiss is just a kiss" (famous line in the song from the famous movie, "Casablanca").

Let him wait as long as he likes - but get on with your own life.
If he wants to fantasize that you'll return to him, that's his right to waste his time that way.
You spelled it out about as clear as you could.
If he cannot read the proverbial writing on the wall, then he needs to go back to school and get an education in love on his own time and dime.
