I think you should carry on with the morning dose because soon those initial side effects will go away.
I used to be on the exact same medication and same dosage. Things got better after a while but I do remember just yawning all the time in the beginning and sometimes walking around like a zombie. Stay with it for now and talk to your doc.
Good luck :-)

Side effects dont always happen. Ive recently been started on these, same dosage for my anxiety and panic attacks and its not been that bad. For the first 2 days I was perfectly fine, a little dizzy for about 30minutes after waking up. My mood was better and I was calmer. Day 3-5 I was feeling quite dizzy with a bit of a headache Day 6-8 Ive been fine. No problems at all. My appetite is fine.

When beginning an antidepressant, often they will make you tired, until you are adjusted to them. You might try taking a night for the next week or so, but when they kick in you will get more energy from them. You should then take them in the morning, because they will then keep you up at night

Fluoxitine is tri-cyclic which means they take a while to work and stay in your system. They work by gradually boosting your seratonin levels which should make you feel better. You should always take them in the morning because they do have side affects that prevent restful sleep. I have been on fluoxitine for years (60 mg) and it does work for me. Some anti-depressants don't work for some people though, so don't be worried about asking for an alternative. It's all about what suits you, and what you're comfortable with. It didn't suit a friend of mine and she asked to change with no problems.Good luck! x

I would see your doctor before switching to evening dose. Be careful with fluoxetine and paroxetine, they can make people impulsive, which is very bad if a person feels suicidal. If you feel worried or strange discontinue the drug.

Your prescribing doctor should have advised you what side effects to expect. Also however there is a patient advise leaflet in every pack which does list the possible side effects, which do include this one. It does tend to decrease with time.

I suggest switching to evening as tiredness is a side effect. It's worth a try and see if there are any improvements.

You have to endure the side effects until the drug starts to work. Ask your loved ones/close friend to let you know if they can tell a difference.
