I choose the cheapest, and try to have a variety of those.
I get the generic store brand ones with the least packaging. These are cornflakes, oats, occasionally something wheat, some rice crispies imitation, nothing fancy at all. Just big bags of no-brand stuff.
At home I can always add cinnamon, nutmeg and honey anyway, to my own taste.
The kids may like the toys from the other ones, but I find it ridiculous to pay that much for a stupid little trinket that will be broken in a week anyway.

Methodology? Breakfast cereal? Well, firstly I close one eye & then ask the other shoppers about their methodology. You wouldn't believe some of the answers I get. Some have even called me a pretentious timewaster..

I'm really boring with breakfast cereal, I only buy stuff that's low salt and sugar and as nutritious as possible. I'm not a complete nut though, it's got to be edible - I can't be doing with allbran or stuff. I buy wheetabix, cheerios or if I'm really pushing the boat out honey nut cornflakes! It's paid off in that my son won't eat any of these ones that are covered in sugar like frosties or anything!
The problem is breakfast is usually the only meal where I manage to be so good!

I try to at least START the day with something healthy :-). I like Grape Nuts because it's low in sugar and won't make me crash later. I mix a few almond slivers with my cereal for an extra boost of protein. I like to experiment - you can mix almost anything with Grape Nuts.

I look at the picture of the cereal on the front of the box and if it looks like it tastes good then I buy it.

Not sure really, what ever takes my fancy I suppose, or if it's on special offer. Always something different each time though as things can get boring, and never things like sugar puffs which are full of sugar. My two faves are special k and porridge!

Taste (nutrition really has nothing to do with my choices) : Reese's Peanut Butter Puffs, Cocoa Puffs, Special K Red Berries (ok, I know that's somewhat good for you, but that's not why I eat it)

The taste. I really love cinnamon grahams, but the shop I bought it from doesnt stock that anymore and I dont know where else to get it from, so I have to do without now.
