Your question seems to refer to the Translation over some of the content.
For this reason, I will direct you to works like "In Awe Of Thy Word" by G. Riplinger. This is a very good work on comparing Translations.
If however the question is more content related, then much of the content questions can be discussed through works like "The Two Babylons".
Maybe you could just focus on the 'Apocrypha', and whether or not they are actually Scriptural, and any work by Ivan Panin is good here.
Actually, the list of references is immense, but these are good starting points.

The choice of books for the canonization is a good place to start your search. These books have not always been set in stone and different christian religions have some differences in the books they use. These choices were clearly made by humans using logic and trying to support points they believed were correct. Which ones were truly correct?
Lots on internet info is available look up bible cannon and history of the bible on line.

Leviticus does not say to kill gays, not at all! Sorry cannot really think of anything cos a lot of the stuff that we would consider immoral are in the Old Testament and they do not matter so much anymore becasue when Jesus was alive, he told stories about these saying a lot of he rules were lifted, for example, having like a million wives!

Well, as a Protestant Christian, my Bible says not to worship any graven images or to worship anyone except God. My understanding of the Catholic church is that it is okay to pray to the saints and to Mary because they can intercede on my behalf. My protestant interpretation of the Bible is that only Christ can intercede on my behalf. That is something that is debatable that you could try. Good luck with the debate. I know it will be a lot of hard work for you and your partner.

The veracity of the bible is unproven. Remind your opponent of this any time they try to prove the bible by quoting it; this is circular logic. It has been proven that the bible is not the literal word of God. Much of it is pretty nasty by modern standards.
Good luck.

Try the Skeptic's Annotated Bible, for plenty of examples of injustice, cruelty, absurdity, intolerance and contradictions in both the Old and New Testaments.

Oh, and Leviticus 20:13:
"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."

It defies logic to believe in Jesus. The idea of God being
- a bastard (never met his father)
- a drunk (first miracle was turning water into whine)
-a gangbanging rapper (The Disciples? and all he did was tell parables)
- unemployed (He never had a job)
- Illiterate (He never wrote anything)
(Those are just my secular arguments, not my true beliefs.)

Mostly all the killing, creation story that just doesn't work at all with science, how could there be a global flood, etc.
God doesn't sound very loving and his methods just don't make sense.
