No difference. It's all pulled from Man's wild imagination.

What is the differene between a cult and a religion? When a human is worshipped more than God. Like for example praying to Mary and Dead Saints because cult is not used in scripture.

Most religions are myths but Christianity is a relationship with the God and not a bunch of traditions of man.

Number and age. A cult is religion only smaller. Myth is religion no one believes anymore.

It's a common misconception that cults are dangerous. Some are, but really a cult is just a different religion with less than a million followers.

There's no definite line between cult and religion except in the way people use the two words. "Cult" is usually used in a negative way whereas "religion" is usually described positively. Myth is closer to something that was once accepted as real but not anymore. Members of cults and religions believe that what they believe is real.

It's all about context.

I'm assuming you have access to a dictionary, so I won't bore you with Webster's answers.

In common North American speak, a Religion is a belief held by a significant number of people, concerning the sacred and/or the supernatural. A religion also deals with how one should apply these beliefs in the daily world.

A cult is a religion which is false and/or abusive to its members. It's mostly a subjective classification, however. (This is not the scholarly definition, however.)

A Myth can be one of two things. It might be a story that is primitive, foolish and false, as in "The food pyramid is just a myth." It can also be a sacred story, or a story of great cultural significance, as in "His story is MYTHic."

Is that any help?

I suspect you're not looking for a literal definition of each.

A cult is a term designating a cohesive group of people devoted to beliefs or practices that the surrounding culture or society considers to be far outside the mainstream, sometimes reaching the point of a taboo.

A myth may refer to kind of folklore consisting of stories often thought to be factual by those circulating them, but not generally accepted as factual in mainstream culture.

A religion is a set of beliefs and practices generally held by a human community, involving adherence to codified beliefs and rituals; and a study of ancestral or cultural traditions.

In the strictest sense, there is no difference. "Religion" is a just slightly more sophisticated cult. A "myth" is a false belief or superstition, which if you ask an atheist, is what all religions are anyway.

Cult and religion: A religion has more adherents.

Myth: Unlike cults and religions, myths are just stories with no organizing institutions.

Look up cult and religion in the thesaurus. They reference each other. Why? Because they are the same thing. Religion is the politically correct term.

Any religion that claims to be the only way to god is a cult and a lie.
