My parents won the lotto back on 30 January 1993 by using quick pick (the machine.
They won 5 million, but there were two other winners so each wound up only getting $1,783,674.00. Back then they only had annuity (to be paid out over 25 years) so they're still getting their yearly checks.

(only my dad's name appears on the sheet - & if you want to know who he is, look at my 360 page and see where I grew up)

I almost never play the lotto, but I did buy two tickets to the Mega Millions last night. Even if you took the lump sum option there was a positive advantage (the payout was greater than the chances of winning). I let the computer pick my numbers, as every combination is statistically equal. You're just as likely to hit with 1,2,3,4, and 5 as any random combo (assuming perfect mixing of the balls in the hopper). So why waste time agonizing over whether to play my mom's birthday or my dad's? Oh, and not a single one of my numbers hit, on either card.

I play occasionally. Over the last 2 mega drawings i dropped a total of $7. I just think there are better things to do with my money. I really got turned away from it when i worked as a repair technician for the lotto. I would fix a machine that wasn't working, then as soon as it was up and running there would be a ton of people buying tickets. The saddest part was that these people were using welfare money for it.

Neither, I am not good at picking numbers and the computer has not done me one bit of good so far, so I give up. Chances of hitting the lotto is less than getting struck by lightning. In the big lottery payout, ur chances r about 1:76 M, not very good odds. Better to play the instant lottery games, at least u get a chance of getting ur money back.

The odds are exactly the same whether you pick or the computer picks. It is all in the luck of the draw. One thing for sure.......You cannot win if you don't buy a ticket.
