Each dealer has its own pay plan, so the specifics vary from place to place. In general, the minimum that a sales consultant will earn on a sale is $50-75. Keep in mind this is for a transaction all said and done that can take 2-4 hrs of work.
With bonuses for volume, "spiff" cars that the dealership is looking to sell specifically and others, the average that a sales consultant earns per new Toyota that they sell will be in the $100-$200 range.

Most toyotas, since there are so many dealerships are being sold very low, and there is not much profit in most toyotas anyway. So, a toyota salesman lives mostly on flats 50-150.

At most dealerships it depends on how many cars he has sold that month and how much money the dealership makes on that car. Most salesman make a percentage of the profit of the deal, and the percentage goes up based on the number of cars he sells during the month.

Anybody can probably make 40k if you put in the hours, at a honda dealer, you are just going to push product and work on flats, so you'll work your butt off for 40-50k. But, there are some guys out there that can work just as hard and make 100k or more. It is very hard, very stressfull. A lot of bad people in the industry, as far as drug users. A lot of people move around from dealer to dealer definately not what you should do.

About $200 for a new car and $200-800 for a usded car depending on the dealers profit.

Typically the salesman get a pittance compared to what the dealer gets. Both are way too much!

It depends on how much they get a person to spend on the car and what model of car it is. Usually I've heard $175-$350.
