i am 15 years old, and i'm slim and smart but its only my thighs that look fat than they normally should be. What can i do to slim them down?

I think it's very odd that the body shape you describe is often considered less attractive than the top-heavy type--especially by Americans. Think of it this way: you and any future children you may have are very lucky. Shall I explain?

The fat that gets deposited on different parts of your body isn't all the same stuff; it's actually different kinds. Fat deposited on or above the waist is "unhealthy" fat. Fat deposited below the waist is high in Omega 3 (good, very healthy fat--you may have heard of it).

If you have the body type that deposits more fat below the waist, statistically you will live a longer and healthier life, and your children will probably be born with more Omega 3 in their brains. This is good.

Since I was 15 I have had the same sort of body shape--thin around shoulders and waist, heavy on the thighs. In my experience it's women and maybe American men who tend to think this is unattracive. My husband is Scottish and he thinks it's fine. And my children have very good brains indeed.

At the risk of seeming indelicate (I am 63). It saddens me when women think they are making themsleves pretty in certain ways. I always seemed to go out with girls who were amazingly skinny. I am not encouraging obesity or ill health just a moderate amount of body: it is so nice to have something to hold onto and cuddle against. Just ask yourself, 'Who are you making yourself pretty for, your girl friends or some boyfriend (real or hoped for)' Boys don't look at girls the same way you do (thassobvious really).
