I just broke up with my boyfriend, i began to like his friend. My female friend told him that i liked him and he said that if we were to go out he would wait a while......should i wait or just foget it cuz its his best friend...by the way he gave me his number today, and there are other guys i could go with besides him but he's the cutest and he's on the basketball team.

Can you? sure, but it could cause serious problems. Depending on the conditions of your break up with your b/f, you going out with his best friend could put distance between him and his friend. That's why it part of the "unwritten Man Laws" that once you date a girl, she's off limits to your friends.

If you are truly interested you should wait. If his best friend is ok with dating you then you should be as well, but I do think it is a good idea to wait for a bit before going after his friend. In the meantime, go out with other guys! Don't just sit around at home if there are other people interested in you, and get to know his best friend as well as just a friend for now. You just ended a relationship and I believe it is normal and healthy to "play the field" for a bit. A person who jumps from one commited relationship into another before enjoying being single ends up regretting the decision in the long run. Have fun and be safe and enjoy all this attention while it lasts.

I'm not sure if you should because you sound just a tad bit shallow. You say "there are other guys I could go out with besides him but he's the cutest" So we're judging our men off of looks, not how they treat us eh? Not a good idea. "and he's on the basketball team" Is that some status symbol? Shallow or not you should date someone that you have an interest in because you feel good and happy or complete around that particualr individual. If he makes you feel this way, then fine. if not, don't get into it.

usually i'd say HELL NO! THAT'S A WHORE-ISH THING TO DO!!! but u sound kinda young so i'll give u some wiggle room. it comes down to this. did u have sex with your ex? if u did there is NO WAY u can get with his friend now(not that u should anyway). if u NEVER had sex with your ex, then maybe u can DATE his friend and see where it goes. if u have sex with a guy, then date and have sex with his friend that is one of the sluttiest things a girl can do. if u are like 14 or 15 and not havin sex yet, just dating and kickin it then u might be able to get away with it, but my overall advice to u would be to date other guys who have no affiliation with your ex.
