I think I might have been bitten by a Brown Recluse. I do not think is it a full grown one because I personaly feel fine but my arm is really red and the bite is raised and there is a visable hole in the center. Is this a Broen Recluse?

By all means, go to the ER today! I was bitten by one a few years ago. At first I thought it was just a mosquito bite, but then it began to swell a bit. I let it go for a few days, but then it got to the point where I could not even touch my leg without pain. I finally went to the ER. By that time Cellulitis had set in, and I needed to go on I.V. antibiotics. The first round of antibiotics did not work, then an infection set in. I ended up with my blood turning septic, and I nearly died. I spent about a month in the hospital on some really hard-core antibiotics. luckily, the infection did not spread to the bone, so I did not need to have anything amputated.

So, as you can see, a spider bite is nothing to mess around with. I am not trying to scare you, or anything like that. I am simply telling you that you should seek medical attention as soon as possible so the same thing does not happen to you.

I wish you luck, and I hope you feel better soon.

Most spiders are absolutely harmless to humans. In fact, of the 20,000 different species of spiders that inhabit the Americas, only 60 are capable of biting humans. Within that small group, only 4 are known to be dangerous to humans: brown recluse, black widow, hobo or aggressive house spider, and the yellow sac spider. Within this select group, only the brown recluse and the black widow spider have ever been associated with significant disease and very rare reports of death.
Go to an emergency room to be safe.
The link below will show you pictures of what a bite from a brown recluse can cause and what the spider looks like.

It is nearly impossible to determine what species of spider by looking at the bitten area------the bite of the brown recluse can range anywhere from mild to severe and everything in between. most common house spiders are at least somewhat venomous to varying degrees. About all I can say is keep a close eye on it and if it gets to looking scary seek the council of your Dr.

go to a doctor - they will know. IF it is a brown recluse bite you do not need to wait. The longer you wait the longer it will take to get well.

My friends brother got bit on the leg and he thought it was a mosquito bite that had gotten infected. He doctored it at home for a week and spent 9 days in the hospital because of it. PLease do not take the chance. Those bites are vicious.

brown recluse spider bites are extremely serious, is there just one hole in the center?? than it probably isn't a spider bite, normally you will see 2 holes, like fang marks. we had a brown recluse in our hallway, in the middle, so you can see them out... a friend of my family had a recluse bite and her skin kind of just seemed to ''rot'' away. it was horrible!!! check out this website, it will give you info on what you should look for and do about it if it is a recluse bite.

Where do you live? If its somewhere in Missouri - it may very well have been a recluse. You need to go to the ER and get it taken care of. If it is a recluse, it will not heal on its own, but will continue to eat the tissue out of your arm and you will be permanently scared.

if you REALLY think you may have been bitten by a brown recluse spider go to the doctor. its nothing to play with. you need medical attention. the venom will continue to eat away the tissue.

a brown recluse spider leaves a hole... and also the hole will begin to decay... "necrotize"....

That's especially dangerous because a necrotizing wound can lead to a gangrene and if left untreated, amputation is the only solution.

Get to a doctor and have that taken care of.

Its ver y possible I got bittern by one when I was 11 and in just a few days it looked awful but I felt fine. It left a huge scar on my leg. You should get ti checked by a doctor because they can get infected quickly,. Two years ago a friend of mine died from one on her shoulder the infection somehow got to her heart.
