They are called rice cakes. I know, so plain huh? And so not extraordinary. They should call it some Chinese name.

It depends on where you are talking about. In Japan, they call them onigiri and in the Phillipines they are called patupat. In Korea it is called samga kimpap. Usually places will stuff them with other foods in most instances. Sometimes they also wrap them with seaweed.
