If he's a Marine, then he's not an Army deserter.
However, with that aside...
He's a deserter. How can a person claim to be a concientious objecter when he volunteered for the Army? You can't tell me that he joined the Army without the knowledge that it might be possible for him to get deployed to a war zone.
Even if you go with the arguement that he didn't realize he would feel the way he does now, then so what? It's not the Armies problem. He knew what would happen if he went AWOL, and he did anyways. He should have stuck with the proper channels and sucked it up the way every other soldier is.
I have absolutely no sympathy for him. I do, however, thank God he didn't get anyone killed while on duty in Iraq.

There are professionals and Cons in each and each branch. you could attempt to accomplish a little re-seek on each and each branch. See which one suits you the main suitable. For in-stints, The Marine Corps has 6-8 Moths Deployments on a similar time as the army has 12-15 Month long Deployments. the army has extra Enlistment Bonuses And Re-Enlistment Bonuses. the army additionally has all of those colleges like Airborne college, Ranger college, Air attack college. there's an excellent purchase different belongings you could seem into. of direction all of us will say pass Marine Corps yet thats because of the fact theyre Gung Ho. I even have appreciate for the two branches.

I personally believe he was just scared to go. He was afraid to die and deserted his country. When you enlist into the military your saying no matter what you will defend this country and obey the orders of your superiors. LOL we can not pick and choose the wars we wish to fight in, we would be losing servicemembers left and right if that was the case and would be a weak military. I disagree with some aspects of the war myself, but as a good soldier I obey my orders in a military manner and trust that our appointed leaders are leading us properly, The military has no room for activist, he should of thought about that before he enlisted.

Either put what you're smoking down or share it but either way you need to lay off the stuff.
A Marine can't desert from the US Army.
God you must be really stoned and if you had the balls to actually defend this country, you wouldn't be saying these really stupid things.

No he is a deserter and his sentence should be a stiff one (20 years), as should the sentences for Lt. Ehren Watada , Mark Wilkerson, Ivan Brobeck, Kyle Snyder , Suzanne Swift , Ricky Clousing, Darrell Anderson and Katherine Jashinski! They knew this going into ti. Support our troops and let them do and finish their job, my son being one of them! Oh yeah, if he is a Marine he is not an Army Deserter! Duh!

F*ck... Why join the military if you're not going to fulfill your contract? No one forced you to sign the dotted line, what the f*ck? They knew what they were going to get into when they signed up. If you're going to join you better have your heart in it. I'll be damned if I die because some idiot decides to go half @ss or quit in a fire fight. I hope anyone who goes UA/AWOL get punished to the fullest extent of military law. HA.

deserter...you don't have to agree with the war, you don't have to support you're leaders, but you don't leave your comrades behind to protest a war!
